Important Information
(ISC)2 has revised the SSCP certification exam objectives and the corresponding exam. Our LabSim product for SSCP has not yet been updated to the latest objectives and should not be used to prepare for the current SSCP certification exam. We are currently working to update our product to match the newest objectives. Anyone purchasing the TestOut LabSim SSCP product or a bundle that includes this product will be eligible for a free update (upon request) when our updated course becomes available (estimated late Q3 or early Q4 2012).
The Systems Security Certified Practitioner certification from (ISC)2 covers basic and advanced IT security concepts and processes. In addition to covering technical details of security, the SSCP also includes information for planning and responding to security incidents.
Gaining the SSCP certification requires one year of experience in addition to passing the certification exam. Having the SSCP certification is often a prerequisite to the following job roles: network security administrator, security analyst, information system security specialist.
The SSCP exam is similar in scope and content to the Security+ certification (we recommend choosing one of these certifications). Passing the following Microsoft security certifications, together with the necessary work experience, will give you a good background in security: Server 2003 Security Implementation, Server 2003 Security Design.
