The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification covers switch and router administration for small- and medium-sized networks. You will gain skills in managing Cisco devices on a private network, with multiple subnets, connected to the Internet.

Gaining the CCNA certification qualifies you for the following job roles: Cisco network administrator, Cisco entry-level help desk.  

While not required, we recommend having A+ and Network+ training (or equivalent) before studying for your CCNA. 

Cisco provides a single-exam or a two-exam option for gaining the CCNA certification. We recommend taking the single-exam option (640-802) where possible. Passing this exam gives you the CCNA certification, along with the CCENT (introductory networking) certification. 

Hands-on Labs

The CCNA certification exam includes performance-based questions that require you to complete switch and router configuration or troubleshooting tasks. For this reason, you will not be able to get certified without hands-on experience.
