Here are my thoughts on the TestOut process. I’m very pleased.

I’ve been working professionally with computers for over almost fifteen years, and playing with them for many more. Until recently, nobody cared about my certification status. When that changed, I decided to pursue certification. I don’t have the time or the schedule to allow just going to class for a week to prepare for an exam. TestOut to the rescue.

Apparently, this is how I learn well. Watching the videos, doing the labs, and practicing the exams. What originally sold me was the LabSim feature. That looked unique and I thought I would respond to training like that. I did. I don’t actually own any fiber-optic stuff, so being able to play with it virtually in the LabSim was a big plus.

I took and passed both A+ exams and then the Network+ exam this spring after going through the TestOut courseware. Sure, my experience counted for plenty, but TestOut prepared me for the actual test-taking environment (how to take the test and watch out for the “trick questions” and not to fall for the easy obvious-but-wrong answer) and the specific information the exams were looking for.

I found the actual exams were all easier than the TestOut practice exams. And I was very happy about that. Better over-prepared than under. Thanks so much.

I have been a Testout customer since 2000. At that time I was just finishing up the certifications for my MCSE and had one elective left to obtain my MCSE. I chose to pursue the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 course because I felt it would be very useful to have that knowledge in the work place. I used the Testout product to study for the course and I was amazed at the content that was included in their product. Because of the way that Testout has structured their courses, I learned quicker, faster and was able to retain more information not only for the exam but also for "real world" implementation. I am happy to say that because of Testout I passed the exam.
