Director of Sales


TestOut Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and experienced sales director to manage all of the company’s sales activities. The position will require hands-on sales activity, as well as the ability to grow a sales organization. This person will report to the President of TestOut and will regularly work with the Executive staff to help develop and implement overall company, marketing, and sales strategies.

Job Objective:
  • Manage the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned markets.
  • Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base and total revenue in the markets.
  • Staff and direct sales teams to achieve maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
  • Contribute to the design and development of training and educational programs for clients and sales team members.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop sales strategies that ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Work closely with marketing team to develop and implement marketing plans.
  • Initiate and coordinate the development of individual and team action plans to penetrate new markets and for the effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Establish and ensure that all sales team members meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
  • Maintain contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Assist sales team members in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Lead by example for sales team members in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Recruit and hire sales team members based on criteria agreed upon in conjunction with senior management.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the sales team members.
  • Manage and develop through regular coaching and mentoring with sales team members to build motivation and selling skills.
  • Conduct one-on-one reviews with all sales team members to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of sales performance.
  • Provide proactive feedback to senior management regarding performance goals and attainment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by sales team members.
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Required qualifications include:
  • 5 years of experience in sales management, with proven leadership success (i.e. met team goals, grew beyond quota, having built a sales team, low employee attrition, etc.).
  • 5-7 years of proven, successful sales experience.
  • Experience selling courseware into corporate, government, and academic markets. Experience with higher education and career colleges would be preferable.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent training in business or sales management.
  • Excellent selling skills.
  • Professional appearance and presentation skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM), word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Marketing Technical Writer


TestOut Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and experienced writer to develop and publish articles related to pertinent industry topics. The person selected for this position will report to the Director of Marketing and will be directly involved in establishing TestOut as the expert in distance education and online labs.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Create thought leadership articles related to industry trends
  • Conduct necessary research to gather information and data as the basis for articles
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to deliver timely and interesting series of research studies
  • Create white papers that focus on customer needs and solutions
  • Oversee and manage the publishing of all articles, research studies, and white papers
Required qualifications include:
  • 2-5 years experience writing and publishing
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience conducting research
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field

Technical Trainer / MCT


Are you a certified IT trainer looking for a change of pace and a new challenge?

TestOut Corporation is looking for an expert trainer to join our development staff. As a member of our team, you will help produce industry-leading self-study products tailored for the networking professional.

Your duties will include:

  • Recording videos and demonstrations to be included in our self-study training courses
  • Designing hands-on labs
  • Acting as a subject-matter expert to our simulation programmers and technical writers
  • Writing course content and exam preparation materials
  • Reviewing course content developed by contract instructors and in-house developers for technical accuracy and completeness
  • Researching new technologies and certifications
  • Refreshing existing course content
This is a full-time, permanent position with little or no travel.

Required qualifications include:

  • 3+ years technical training with an IT instructor certification (MCT, CCSI, CNI)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and networking products
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain complex topics in a clear manner
  • An understanding of networking technologies that goes beyond the official curriculum
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail
  • An attitude of excellence
Desired qualifications include:
  • Additional experience with Cisco, Linux, SQL, and/or Exchange
  • Course design or instructional design background
